Job Vacancy: Media Teacher (Secondary School) – Medway

Position: Media Teacher
Location: Medway, Kent
School Type: Secondary School
Start Date: Immediate or as soon as possible
Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Are you passionate about inspiring the next generation of media creators and critical thinkers? We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Media Teacher to join our forward-thinking secondary school in the heart of Medway.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Media Studies to students at KS3, KS4, and KS5 levels
  • Develop engaging, creative, and relevant lessons that inspire students to explore the world of media
  • Support students in developing practical skills, including video production, digital editing, and content creation
  • Promote critical analysis of media texts, encouraging independent thought and creativity
  • Participate in the school’s extracurricular activities, supporting media clubs and projects
  • Monitor, assess, and report on students' progress to ensure high levels of achievement

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A degree in Media Studies, Film, or a related subject
  • Experience teaching Media Studies at secondary school level
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for media in all its forms – from traditional broadcast to digital platforms
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities
