Job Description

The School and College:

 It is a specialist independent school and college for children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Their ambition is for pupils to develop self-confidence, independence and resilience through an engaging and holistic curriculum. This will provide the skills, life experiences and qualifications pupils need to participate successfully in wider society 

 

The Role:

As a qualified social worker, you will have experience working with hard to reach young people.

You will respond to the unmet needs of children and young people and their families through direct work, advocacy, information gathering, assessment, developing supportive plans, family support and liaison.

You will provide a supportive and reflective space for children and young people in identifying areas for positive change within the school and/or home environment. You will liaise between home and school while working around the range of issues which can affect education for children and young people with the aim of supporting the child and family to engage further.

For the position you must have registered social worker status with Social Work England (SWE) and have experience of working with children and families, as well as supporting school staff with safeguarding.

You must have competent IT skills, as well as the ability to provide one to one sessions and group work.
